Hip hop has slowly risen from the depths of the underground - from neighborhood house parties to arena stages - and with it the art of freestylin’. What was once an informal artistic expression largely limited to black and Latino communities in the United States has now seized the mainstream attention to become the dominant genre in music entertainment today.

Originally, freestyles represented hip hop music in its purest form - completely raw, unscripted, and living proof of an MC’s lyrical talents. Now, the definition of freestyle has been expanded to include rhymes containing fragments of pre-written lyrics or entirely pre-written lyrics, but die-hard freestyle fans revere the artistry of impromptu rapping. Artists who draw inspiration from the excitement of the moment often compose the most brilliant verses, especially in the heated exchange of a freestyle battle.

The ability to freestyle is a major classifier in the hip hop world, where true MCs are hailed for the uniqueness of their improvisational rhyme. Even the kings of mainstream hip hop, like Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Nas, feel the need to confirm their skills as innovative lyricists, and regularly perform freestyle verses on music television programs and radio stations.

The genre divide between East Coast hip hop and Southern rap has chiefly been caused by the latter’s use of over-simplified beats and rhymes, as well as the inability of its front-runner artists to demonstrate sufficient freestyle skills. Sub-genres like crunk music are criticized for lacking complexity and cheapening the image of hip hop overall, and artists such as Hurricane Chris have come under fire in recent years for this reason. Despite such criticisms, Southern credibility has been maintained by a talented few - most notabaly, Lil Wayne, Outkast, and Ludacris.

Hip Hop Freestyles and the Internet

Like all other popular entertainments, the accessibility of hip hop culture has been maximized by the expansion of the internet. Popular entertainment media sites, especially Youtube and AOL Music regularly feature videos and audio recordings of hip hop celebrities and their latest freestyles at radio stations, clubs, and concert halls.

For fans of hip hop freestyles who enjoy participating as much as observing, numerous online communities dedicated to the craft have been launched, connecting freestylers from across the globe. Websites like Freestyles.com provide a forum where burgeoning arts post and comment on original lyrics, submit clips and recordings of their own freestyle performances, rate music, promote their self-produced albums, and read up on opportunities for freestylers to perform publicly.

Other sites, like Flocabulary, specialize in instructing beginning freestylers looking to sharpen their skills. Flocabulary dissects the art of rhyming and offers a step-by-step tutorial meant to strengthen a beginner’s improvisational abilities.

The internet is bringing hip hop to the farthest corners of the world and introducing freestylin’ to foreign communities interested in expressing their concerns about their environments through music. In countries like Israel, Palestine, and Pakistan has become a method of responding to the social and political problems plaguing their homelands. Freestylin’ has become much larger than its origins in NYC neighborhoods, proving to be a therapeutic art bringing cultures together through the power of their own words.

At birth, you don’t get to choose your name, and it’s unlikely your parents made a selection from the hip hop name genre. If you were saddled with something that doesn’t suit you, change it. You can change your handle repeatedly to something that describes “the hip hop you” you are or “the rapper you” you want to become! It’s quite simple, just use a hip hop nickname generator and represent your inner MC.

Hip Hop artists rarely use their birth given names, with the exception of Kanye West, Missy Elliot, Rick Ross, Paul Wall, and Will Smith (formerly Fresh Prince). Rather than inventing something catchy and obscure for the masses to shout out during concerts, the aforementioned artists were deceptively clever by leaving no room for mistaken identity. By doing so, they may have missed some of the fun. Lucky for them they too can participate in creating the many possibilities their rap names could have been with a hip hop nickname generator.

Other well known hip hop artists are often referred to by pseudonyms that match their bigger than life characters. Speaking of big, you may be familiar with rap superstars like “Biggie Smalls” AKA “Notorious B.I.G.”, “Big Pun”, or “Chub Rock”(may they rest in peace). Let’s not forget the very much alive overweight lover, “Heavy-D”.

If you are of a more slender or petite stature, perhaps, “MC Lyte“, “Lil Kim”, “Lil Romeo” or “Lil Wayne” hit closer to home.

The indecisive may change names as much as “Puff Daddy”, I mean, “Puffy”, I mean “P-Ditty”, no “Ditty”, or is it just plain “Puh” (the sound that the letter P makes)?

Regardless of the sometimes obvious, or other times unusual story behind the name and its meaning, hip hop artist names are fun to hear and even more fun to create. You may not be as good of a freestyler, or as hard-core as some of the hypest Gangsta rappers, but you can build an honorable handle with a hip hop nickname generator.

If you still have no clue what hip hop nickname will best suit you, consider the following categorized names of popular rap artists.

Those with royal or respectable titles:
• Queen Latifah

Although you may find a few people who may disagree, the general consensus is that the Notorious BIG was the greatest hip hop artist who ever lived. What he brought to the game of hip hop was just more then a new style or delivery but an infectious voice and poetic imagery that had never been imagined in hip hop. In hip hop some rappers can freestyle while others were known for being able to go to the studio and create hits. The Notorious BIG was one of the only rappers in history, that was able to do both at an extremely high level.

To be number one not only do you have to be consistent but you have to bring something different to the table that no others have either done before or you have to do it better then it has ever been done. So what did the Notorious BIG bring to hip hop. The one thing the Notorious BIG was able to do that no other was capable of, was his ability to adapt. For the most part hip hop artists tend to find a producer (person who creates the music) who makes music that is specifically for them. This producer’s whole job is to make music that fits the artist’s style and compliments their voice. Although the Notorious BIG was known to have relied on P. Diddy for the bulk of his music he was one of the first hip hop artist to venture out of his comfort zone and allow other producers to give him music that realistically should not have fit his style. At this point in time in hip hop (much like it still is today) each region had its own style of music and rap delivery. As soon as a song started you would know the region, producer and artist before the first word was even delivered. The thing that the Notorious BIG was able to do was go to each of these regions and not only use the music but also adapt his delivery to match the artists of that particular region.

It didn’t matter if it was and R&B hip hop track or a rap hip hop track, the Notorious BIG was able to adapt and make the song a hit purely off of his input alone. If it was collaboration the other artists were forgotten as the Notorious BIG stole the show. His use of imagery and puns were unheard of at the time and truly changed the way other hip hop artist started to approach the game. The Notorious BIG isn’t regarded as the greatest hip hop artist who ever lived because of the money or the hit records he constantly made but for the impact he made on the entire hip hop industry. There may be artists, who come along after him and they may even have more success then he did but the impact he had on the hip hop industry will never be matched, much less surpassed.

Akon is a Senegalese American Hip Hop singer and songwriter. Akon whose real name is Aliaune Thiam was born in 14th October 1981 in Saint Louis Missouri, but his family settled down in New Jersey. It is in this city that Akon encountered name, fame and also faced penalty for breaking the law. Akon was charged and jailed for armed robbery of automobiles and drug distribution charges. He made good use of his time in prison by working on his music. After he was released form prison he wrote many music tracks and songs working in his home. He also recorded some songs as well and his tapes found their way to SRC/Universal and they releases Akon first album titles Trouble in 2004. This album was a fine blend of West African styled vocals, combined with southern beats, east coast beats as well. Till date Akon has produced about fifty songs to his credit.

Later he released many hit singles like Lonely, Pot of Gold, Ghetto, Locked Up and Belly Dancer. The time that Akon spent in jail has a significant impact on his works and this was very much evident in is songs that were released later on. In his hit single Locked Up his experience of the auto theft and his subsequent jail sentence can be felt. The song reached to the top ten in US and the top five in UK. The song Ghetto became a radio hit when this song was remixed by Green Lantern and verses from other rappers like The Notorious B.I.G and 2Pac. Another single Lonely was released in 2005 and this song reached the top 5 in Billboard Hot 100 and was a chart topper in UK, Australia and Germany. In fact Akon’s single became the longest running single at the top running for more then fifteen weeks at a stretch.

In November 2006, Akon released his sophomore debut album Konvicted. This album had collaborations from Eminem, Styles P and Snoop Dog. The album Konvicted has a fine blend of reggae, R and B and Rap that is very true to his African roots and origin. Eminem features in the song Smack That and this is one of the most played songs in the album. Snoop Dog features in the song I Wanna Love You and just as the title suggest this is a love song. Mama Africa is another warm song which features in the album and anyone who has been associated with Africa in anyway will surely love this song. Akon’s Konvicted made its debut at number 2 in Billboard 200. The album sold more then 280,000 copies in the first week itself. The album continued to be at the top of the Billboard 200 for more then 25 weeks.

Currently Akon is planning to wok on a movie that will be based on some of the events in his life. He has also lunched his own clothing line titles Konvicted Clothing. His cloth line features denims, t-shirts, hooded shirts, and blazers for both males and females.

Who was the first rap artist to…

…appear in a rap music video?

…be featured in a soap opera?

…become a millionaire?

…become a producer?

…obtain a certified gold record for rap?

…record a national commercial?

…sign to a major label?

…tour the US and Europe

…use the sample loop?

Curtis “Kurtis Blow” Walker is not only an accomplished recording artist he is also a rap pioneer turned hip-hop apostle. With more than 25 years of industry experience, Walker, known simply as Kurtis Blow, has 10 albums to his credit and a host of accomplishments that won him music, film, and television acclaim in the 80’s.

Over the years, Blow maintained his rap association while evolving into an advocate for social justice. Today, he speaks empathetically against racism, drugs, and alcohol. His community initiatives include supporting The National Ad Counsel and Phoenix House of California. In addition to having aided international campaigns such as the Sun City Artist Against Apartheid record, Blow supports U.S. troops. After 9/11, Blow went on a 17-show Armed Forces tour (www.armedforcesentertainment.com) to the Middle East. The tour included stops in Afghanistan, Bahrain, Jordan, Krgystan, Kuwait, Oman, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Though very active socially, Blow has not left his first love. When he is not working on Backspin 43, Sirius Satellite Radio’s Classic Old School Hip-Hop station, the former break dancer serves as rapper, DJ, and worship leader at the Hip-Hop Church he co-founded in Harlem, New York. Reportedly, Blow adds a tenth accomplishment to his list of firsts: a rapper who holds the office of a pastor. * Although it may seem like a conflict of interest to some, it is a natural fit for Blow. “I’ve always noticed there is spirituality in hip-hop,” he commented. Like many modern churches, Blow sees hip-hop as a means to bring “young people who love God but do not like to go to church…back to the church.”

In addition to a CD collaboration with hip-hop pioneer, Christopher “Play” Martin and holy hip-hop recording artist Canton Jones, Blow continues to be a trendsetter. Recently, he launched www.HipHopMinistry.com, a global portal that serves as an online music hub for holy hip-hop music. Last month, Blow took his Hip-Hop Church America on the road. A concert featuring DJ Battlecat, 2Five, Eastwood, Takim, and TraCee was held at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California (October 21, 2006). Founded by Dr. Robert Schuller, the Crystal Cathedral has been a mainstay for conservative Christians for half a century. “By bringing Hip-Hop Church America here, we’re showing that hip-hop can be both cool and fun, but also have a positive message,” Schuller’s son Robert commented.

* A trend popularized five years ago by then Bad Boy recording artist, MA$E (Mason Betha), Kurtis Blow is not hip-hop’s only apostle. Betha pastors S.A.N.E. Church International in Atlanta, Georgia. Former Three 6 Mafia member, Mr. Del is also a rapper who pastors City of Refuge in Memphis, Tennessee. While he does not formally pastor a church, Reverend Run of Run DMC fame is an ordained minister.

As hip-hop apostles grow in number and visibility, the influence of hip-hop in the church and vice-versa becomes more evident.

I first started listening to Wu-Tang when a friend of mine was talking about one of their songs and I hadn’t heard it, so I made it my goal to listen to the song. Once I had listened to it I became an instant fan and addict and that doesn’t happen often to me because I like most kinds of music.

Wu-Tang formed originally in New York in 1992 with 9 members (Rza, Gza, Ol’ Dirty, Inspectah Deck, Raekwon, U-God, Ghostface Killah, Method Man and Masta Killa). Over the following years there have been many additions to the “Clan” such as Cappadonna, Shyheim, Killarmy, Killa Beez, Sunz Of Man, Buddah Monk, Gravediggaz, and Mathematics to name but a few. Unfortunately there has been one major subtraction from the Wu-Tang Clan which happened on November 13th 2004 when Russell Jones (ODB) collapsed at the studio he was recording at and was pronounced dead 30 minutes later. The autopsy reports stated that the cause of death was accidental overdose. I will go into ODB more in a future post as I have a lot to say about him and his influence on me.

Wu-Tang released their first album (Enter The Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers) in 1993 and have released many albums since (Wu-Tang Forever, The W, Iron Flag, Wu-Tang Collective, Wu Chronicles I and Wu Chronicles II) and have just released a new album in December 2007 (8 Diagrams). Clan members have appeared on numerous other rappers and artists albums worldwide over the years including Mariah Carey (ODB), Amy Winehouse (Ghostface Killah), Notorious B.I.G. (Method Man), Kanye West (ODB), Outkast (Raekwon), Mary J Blige (Method Man).

There have also been times when Wu-Tang have ventured outside the music industry, the most notable being the Wu-Wear range of clothing and footwear and the making of several computer games. Wu-Wear was started by Oli Grant (who was the executive producer) in 1995 and when Wu Tang Forever was released in 1997 containing a song dedicated to the fashion label sales were reported as $10 million in 1998. The Wu-Tang playstation game Wu-Tang Shaolin Style was released in 1999 and there was even a special edition Wu-Tang controller. There have been several games made by Def Jam in which Ghostface and Method Man both play themselves as characters.

I am going to create separate articles over time of all the original members of Wu-Tang which will contain more info about the member and also my top 5 songs. I have over some time while being at work drawn several pictures of the Wu-Tang W logo which had gotten me in trouble, but I no longer work at the same place and haven’t drawn any lately (but I intend to again soon).

Now to my Top 10 Wu-Tang songs:

01. Wu-Tang Clan Aint Nuttin To **** With
02. C.R.E.A.M. (Cash Rules Everything Around Me)
03. Shame On A *****
04. Triumph
05. Gravel Pit
06. Reunited
07. As High As Wu-Tang Get
08. Soul Power
09. Back In The Game
10. One Blood Under W

This article purposely combines both highly speculated titles for Eminem’s upcoming album. An album that Marshall Mathers recently announced on NYC radio Hot’97.

After a few years break , Slim Shady’s return seems to be imminent, which constitutes an event in itself. After the rumors of his early retirement that go back to 2005, despite a strong denial from the artist himself, many listeners, fans and maybe even close friends kept asking themselves if Eminem had decided to work more in the field of producing or if he simply buried his evil character for good.

But maybe Eminem’s return will not be musically written in the same terms as expected. Maybe Eminem intends to come up with a brand new style. If he doesn’t, he might resurrect Slim Shady from his grave, who knows?

At the time I am writing those lines, those are only empty suppositions. All we can do is wait and see.

Eminem is truly a phenomenon in rap history. His detractors pretend that he used his skin color to reach the top more easily.

Matter of fact: among all white rapping artists (pardon me, I really hate talking about an artist’s skin color, but this element is necessary, if I want to prove my point), Eminem is the only one with a worldwide mainstream appeal in the world of hip hop.

Actually, Eminem is one of the most talked about contemporary rap artists.

Many people tried to imitate his style, but all of them failed before they achieved anything consistent.

So, why did Eminem, also known to the public as Marshall Mathers, have such an impact in hip hop?

The first reason is undeniably Eminem’s brilliance. The more I got in depth in studying his music through the years, the more his intelligence in handling compound syllables, his subtle sense of humor, his ability to use his own weaknesses to his greatest advantage, his honesty in describing true life situations he went through, impressed me.

Some people always objected that Eminem owes everything to Dr Dre. If it is true that brilliance isn’t everything in the merciless world of the music industry, Eminem’s early work is the full expression of a musical genius.

A song like Biterphobia is a subtle musical composition, lyrically and instrumentally as well. It was released in 1994. One could barely object that the young Marshall Mathers had the means to pay a ghostwriter at time he was struggling to survive, which means the young man was a true (undiscovered) lyrical genius. Other songs from the Slim Shady EP do carry the same brilliance in the writing; one has to admit that the early Eminem excels in storytelling.

Second handedly, and whether his detractors like it or not, Eminem is credible as a white man in a black man’s world.

As he stated it in a former interview that goes back to 1999, Marshall Mathers used to live across the black side of 8 Mile, because his mom couldn‘t afford to pay the rent on the white side.

Totally immersed into hip hop culture since his uncle Ronnie introduced him into Ice T’s Breaking CD, Eminem also grew up into the harsh world of 8 Mile where had to fight for his dream to come true, despite the racial tension that was prevailing in the early 90’s.

Also and despite climate of hatred and suspicion between black and white communities, Marshall Mathers built some true friendships with his black fellows. D 12 isn’t a group that was born by professional interest like it often happens in the music industry , but it resulted from brothers (RIP Proof is the main founder of the group) who shared the same passion for the vibe.

Third, one should also recall that Eminem does not conform with the usual artistic stereotype.

His down to earth attitude, his self hatred, his honesty in exposing ugly facts and situations, his modest origins, his approachability in terms of sharing his life story details soon made a very likable person of Eminem in hip hop fans’ eyes.

Eminem soon became the example of somebody people could relate to. His acclaim is totally justified in that way, because he managed to break the distance between artist and listener, creating an unprecedented closeness and complicity with the fan.

Maybe Eminem is also the prototype of a walking contradiction: his generosity in exposing quantity of details from his life story soon became the boomerang that would hit him hard in terms of the liberty he was longing for. Stalkers of all kind would soon make his private life a living nightmare.

Since he was catapult to the top to now, Eminem has offered his listeners a prolific work with very various artistic collaborations.

His second album, the Marshall Mathers LP, probably tops any other of his albums, because it is a subtle combination of poetry, creativity, social commentary, shock value, an invaluable sense of humor-at least in my eyes. Moreover, Marshall Mathers is an artist who managed to create specific atmosphere thanks to his subtle mastery of the English language. A song like Stan has the depth of Rimbaud’s poem Le Dormeur Du Val. Like the French poet, Eminem draws a picture that is getting more dramatic and darker as times goes by. Further on, the 8 Mile Road song, for instance, is built on similar [i] sounds that imply a constant struggle. A similar structure can also be found in Yellow Brick Road, a subtle syllabic word construction that will remain an attentive ear of the monotonous sound of a train on the rails.

Very few songs surpass Drug Ballad, a beautiful instrumental and word combination that allows the listener to enter into the forbidden world of a drug addict, making him feel the sensation of drowning into the alcohol. The instrumentals truly make you feel the infernal spiral in which the addict is caught with no way to escape.

Encore is probably the worst of his albums. Despite a few well written songs like Mosh, it indicated some artistic fatigue and some of its themes need to be renewed. The commercial dimension of some songs in Encore really disappointed me.

By stating this a while, I raised some controversy. But I really don’t care.

I’m not here to praise Eminem in any case. As a music journalist, I am here to offer an honest and objective perception of the artist from a professional point of view. I owe my readers the truth.

Eminem’s force also lies in the fact that he manages to use the darkest life situations he went through in order to transform them into artistic creativity.

Since 2005, Eminem has been through very painful events. His best friend Proof’s death is probably one of the worst sorrows a human being can go through. I trust Eminem’s will to honor his friend s memory will allow him to dig out of his heart the most beautiful and creative lyrical treasures.

Then the world will be truly be his for the taking because the crowd of listeners will be touched and crown its king of the mic for a standing ovation.

How is it that a little white boy from Kansas City has become the most well known rapper in the world? Starting from nothing and eventually moving up to a multi-millionaire, Eminem over the past seven years has been in the eye of the public everywhere you look. He has essentially entered a black man’s business and gone to the top over the course of a few years, but how?

On October 17, 1972 Marshall Bruce Mathers III was born in St. Joseph, MO by his 15 year old mother Debbie. Six months later his father was gone and this began the struggle for Marshall and his mother; one that was just the beginning. Throughout the course of his childhood Marshall and his mother moved numerous times into different houses from Kansas City to Detroit. The maximum time spent in one house was only 3 months, which caused Marshall to attend many different schools making it difficult to cope to the different surroundings and make friends. Every new school he attended he was bullied as he was the new kid. This was something that he could not change as he was never stationed in one school for a long period of time. At the age of 12 he and his mother finally settled in a house in Detroit. He would later use the bullying to his advantage fueling him to get back at all his bullies through songs.

By the age of 4 Marshall was already beginning to rap and put words together rhyming them. At school he was rather successful considering the circumstances, but it was lunchtime that he enjoyed as he often battled schoolmates through freestyles. At the age of 14 Marshall began to get serious about rapping and felt that he had a shot in the business. When he got to the ninth grade he failed it three times before eventually dropping out as he felt school was not for him.

When he turned 17 he came up with the name M&M for himself by combining the first letters of his first and last name, which later was changed to Eminem. Now that he didn’t have school as a distraction, he focused solely on rapping with the goal of making it to the top. He faced constant struggle on the way to stardom as he was continuously rejected by most rappers because of his race, despite his true talent. This grew anger inside of him that he uses in his music today. Knowing that it wasn’t going to be easy and that he would have to work, Marshall forced himself onto radio shows and freestyle battles to prove everybody wrong. He eventually got a first album titled “Infinite”, but it only sold 1,000 copies. It wasn’t until 1997 that Marshall would make a name for himself.

In 1997 he was married with a child trying to support his family with very little cash to do it with. He went to the Rap Olympics in Los Angeles hoping to win the cash prize of $1,500 for first place, but instead was spotted by a few sponsors from Interscope. Furious that he had come in second, he later found out about the sponsors and he gave them a copy of the “Infinite” tape, which was later sent to Dr. Dre. Dre was extremely impressed with the talent of Eminem and got contact of him, where the two recorded his second album; The Slim Shady LP. This album set the tone for his style of rap, as he lashed out on everyone that had bullied him throughout his life. It was a different style than anyone had ever heard, which brought him to stardom.

Eminem is by far the most popular rapper that is seen most in public. He has been seen in Rap Pages, VIBE, Rolling Stone, Spin, The Source, URB and Stress and continues to strive for more. He became the first white person to ever be on the cover of The Source. Throughout his life he has starred in the movie “8 Mile” based on his life growing up, has had over 20 guest appearances on TV, has featured on numerous different rappers CD’s, and has recorded 5 CD’s of his own. His second LP, “The Marshall Mathers LP”, sold over 8 million records in the United States alone, 1.76 million copies in the first week setting a record for a solo artist. This album became the first rap album ever to be nominated for “Album of the Year” at the Grammies. He would go on to win 3 Grammies for the album that night. In the year 2002 he made $29 million in earnings of his fourth album “The Eminem Show LP” and touring for it. Then on March 23, 2003 the song “Lose Yourself” from his movie “8 Mile” became the first rap song to ever win an Academy Award.

While being known for his explicit behavior and horrendous lyrics on his albums and in the eye of the public, it is difficult to overlook all that he has achieved. Coming from where he did and rising to where he is currently, it is remarkable what he has done not only for himself, but the rap world as well. While it is hard for most to like him, there are not many that do not at least respect him for what he has achieved as of now, and what he may do in the future to come.

Global rating of the product: 5 stars

When being asked about rap legends, most people have Tupac or Biggie’s names in their mouths. Eazy E, however, remains a little bit hidden in the dark. The great Eazy E nevertheless changed the face of rap music and influenced more than a decade, putting the city of Compton on the map.

Eazy E and his fellows from the NWA group brought that typical gangsta flavor into their reps, pointing out the police’s discriminative and violent attitude against black folks. A new generation of black men with an attitude was born. If some people kept the stereotype of oppressed and enslaved black people, Eazy E and his fellows would do away with it drastically, showing that black folks were ready to fight back against any form of discrimination with no mercy.

Eazy E was a man of talent. He came up with a brand new style of his own. I have mad love for Eric Wright aka Eazy E. I like his typical voice and his intrepid attitude in front of the police.

You might object that I am white and ask yourself how I could relate to people such as Eazy E. Yes, I am a white woman- with a black cultural background. I have spent years with the African community, I am the mom of two handsome bi racial boys and, believe me, I have experienced racial discrimination of all kind and seen how the police acts with people who have « the wrong skin color ».

Eazy E’s music, more than ever, has a strong meaning. So let’s get started with Eternal E. Open your ears and listen!

The CD starts with the well known Boys N The Hood remix that is truly a must hear.

Eazy will plunge you into his universe. Be ready for a total immersion into the Compton hood. Enjoy the lyrical skills of the tight emcee. Piano notes, xylophone, intense drum beats and scratches sounds will beautifully enhance the Boys N The Hood remix. It is followed by the very rhythmic and scratchy sounding 8 Ball Remix. I recommend both track to avid old school rap listeners. Eazy masters his art to the fullest.

Eazy Duz It is built on beautiful funky basslines and dope ass beats provided by legendary Dr Dre. The song is offensive as hell and has some beautiful trumpet accents that will remind many listeners of James Brown’s art. Eazy keeps it real and, of course, gangsta. The instrumentals are worked on to the perfection and one could barely stay indifferent in front of the great variety of rhythmic sounds that are intelligently mixed up in a very subtle manner. Eazy duz it, for sure.

Eazy er Said Than Dunn will enlighten Eazy E’s unbeatable rhymes. Eazy keeps it ruthless and swinging. B**** and h*** will get smashed in no time. Take attention, Eazy is a mad rhymer.

Don’t miss song Nr 10, Neighborhood Sniper, that’s starts with beef and dramatic gunshots. Built on rapid drum beats and trumpet sounds, the song is spiced up with some good reggae sounding lyrics. You recognize DJ Yella’s specific touch. This track is one of my favorites on the CD. The rhythm is subtle and very well worked on. The dark, murderous picture contains some lighter shades of humor that fully come to shine in the Neighborhood Sniper video.

Real Motherfuckin G’s is a Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg diss. Although I have mad respect for Dr Dre, I find that diss very well made. Compton underground legends BG Knocc Out and his older brother Dresta have participated to the killa track.

The song is an obvious protest against studio gangstas and an invitation to keep it real. Guitar sounds, a good dose of G Funk sounds, a pinch of subtle drum beats will allow you to appreciate Compton artists’ great talent.

The Eternal E Cd also contains some good old videos featuring Eazy E and his NWA fellows. We Want Eazy will allow you to see the young NWA members on stage. The well known Straight Outta Compton video is there too.

Don’t miss 100 Miles And Running nor Neighborhood Sniper. Along with Eazy er Said Than Dunn and Only If You Want It, the CD also has an original less known video named Appetite For Destruction in which you will enjoy an astute thriller. Eazy and Dr Dre show some real acting skills there.

There are a few more videos to discover on the reedited version of the Eternal E CD. This excellent Cd is definitely a must in your hip hop library.
